GERSON
Gerson is an independent pop electronic singer, songwriter, and dancer based in Sweden. Grounded by his distinctive dark male voice and intense stage presence, he crafts original electronic pop combinations that seamlessly blend Scandinavian precision with Brazilian heat into a signature international sound.
His musical trajectory gained momentum online through his YouTube project Behind the Cover, where he performed reimagined versions of tracks by artists such as The Cranberries, Billie Eilish, Madonna, Taylor Swift, Annie Lennox, Britney Spears, and Melanie C. This vocal series served as the crucial bridge to his original songwriting, leading to his debut releases.
He made his full-length debut in 2023 with the studio album Great Things Are Going to Happen, recorded in Stockholm and produced by Swedish producer Locotraxx. The album featured "Count The Bread", which became his first track to surpass 100,000 streams, and "Where Do Dreams Go When We Die", which earned international radio airplay in Germany. Expanding on this collaboration, Gerson released his sophomore album FLAMES in 2025, followed by the expanded 17-track release FLAMES 🔥 Burnin' Fire Deluxe. Featuring tracks in English, Portuguese, and Spanish, including singles like "C U Soon", "Love Party (Yo Soy)", "The Tone", and "Glitter Never Dies", the record achieved international radio play across Europe and earned praise for its compelling sonic identity.
His music is accompanied by striking, narrative-led visual storytelling across his music videos. His debut video for "I Miss Them" (from his debut album) pays homage to Ingmar Bergman’s The Seventh Seal, featuring Gerson playing chess and dancing with Death as memories of his past carnival life in Rio fade to embrace his home in Sweden. For "No Centro do Rio", he compiled a visual archive spanning more than ten years of personal footage living and celebrating street carnival in Rio de Janeiro. His videography also includes releases for No "The Tone" and "Five Days Of Love", directed by Joohan Rastenberger.
A seasoned live act, Gerson spent 2025 bringing his energetic sets to key parties and venues across Stockholm's nightlife scene, alongside multiple featured live broadcasts on Swedish radio station Radio Total Normal. His stage presence has carried him to major live events across Sweden, including Folk På Gården (2025), Brazil Independence Day Festival at Stockholm (2025), Malmö Pride (2026), Reclaim Pride Stockholm (2026), and Kulturfestivalen on the Sauna Radio stage at Södermalmstorg (2026).

Literature & Writing
As an author and pop culture writer, Gerson has published several notable literary works across genres. He co-authored Gretchen's official biography, Gretchen: Uma Biografia Quase Não Autorizada, alongside writer Fábio Fabrício Fabretti, and authored 3355 Situações Que Você Deve Saber Para Não Morrer Como Nos Filmes de Terror, featuring a preface by legendary Brazilian filmmaker José Mojica Marins (Zé do Caixão). His published titles also include Hemisfério-Dorso, alongside contributions to literary anthologies.
Alongside his book releases, he engaged in film criticism and editorial writing, authoring the horror cinema column A Maldição do Cinema for Dito Pelo Maldito and running personal blogs such as When The Writer Stops to Write and Black Free Stories (exploring socio-political perspectives on life in Sweden)—projects that are no longer publicly available. A new book is currently in development, with release details to be announced soon.
Dance & Academic Foundation
Gerson began his artistic development on scholarship at the Centro Artístico de Dança in Belo Horizonte (Minas Gerais, Brazil), directed by Valéria Bhering, studying classical ballet and jazz alongside private vocal training under Meire Armendani. Upon moving to Rio de Janeiro, he earned a scholarship at CAND (Centro de Artes Nós da Dança), directed by Regina Sauer, where he continued his studies in ballet and jazz while expanding into modern dance, focusing on the Horton technique.
He went on to graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Contemporary Dance from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), where he also completed several years of classical vocal training through the university's School of Music. This combined technical foundation in movement and voice paved the way for a five-year tenure as a featured dancer on the television show Amor & Sexo, hosted by Fernanda Lima on TV Globo, from 2012 to 2017.
Acting, Modeling & Visual Arts
Beyond music and literature, Gerson’s creative work extends into acting and modeling. Based in Sweden, he has appeared in numerous commercial campaigns for major brands and platforms—including Halebop, Visit Sweden, Lidl, Klirr, Spela Casino, Somaya Stödjour, Svenska Spel & Kasino, Power.se, KRAV, Filmstaden, PostNord, and Ekonomifakta. As a featured model, he was highlighted as the main Brazilian figure in the international photobooks Men Around the World and Rio by photographer AJ Paris.
